From past experiences I have learnt that it is really important to work as a team. Previously I was dictated to and told what to do, and because the people I was teamed up with had huge personalities, and at times wanted to take control of the project it became really hard to get my own ideas across. Having said that, I did grow in confidence throughout the project and learnt how to communicate my ideas better to the group. Another bonus to the project was that we learnt more about each others subjects and the processes in which we both go through on a day to day basis. We also learnt that it can be very beneficial to work on collaborative projects as it gives a whole new dimension to your work.

Hi Samantha. Just wanted to say that I completely agree with you 100% that collaborations are not easy. I was lucky and got on really well with my group, but unfortunately you cant always pick and choose who you work with!
ReplyDeleteCollaborations bring together different and varying ideas. The benefit of having multiple people in a group, is that the talent pool is larger and more diverse which in turn help to create more interesting concepts.
I came across your Blog by chance on Twitter and feel that you project sounds interesting and seems to have a lot of scope to play with. I would have loved to have been given tips on what to do and what not to do! it would have made my life a hell of a lot easier. A word of advice in terms of advertising your blog, it would be a good idea to make yourself an account on websites such as deviant art flickr and not only advertise your work on it but also your blog. You may get more of the feedback you are looking for!
